Hey! Welcome to my page.
I am Samina, a software developer, digital designer, writer, and co-founder of Foam On Latte Inc. - a software design and development studio building applications for small and medium-sized businesses.
My career journey began in business analysis and technical writing, but my love for technology led me to transition into software engineering. Over the last two years, I have worked with multiple startups in Toronto by designing and building their products.
With a strong foundation in both frontend and backend development, I am adept at translating client visions into robust, scalable applications that exceed expectations.
Throughout my career, I have helped various startups in Toronto in developing their product visions from scratch or streamlining their current workflows via web and mobile applications.
My current project - the ShiftPay app - is set to launch in the Canadian market in Fall 2024. Read more about it on the news here.
UI/UX design isn't just about aesthetics, it's about creating user journeys that are smooth, engaging, and achieve your goals. By focusing on usability, clear calls to action, and user needs, you can craft experiences that boost conversions, build brand loyalty, and save money in the long run.
In my UI/UX design experience, I've designed mobile and web apps for ShiftPay, redesigned the customer onboarding flow for RideAlike, and designed entire user interfaces on InheritChain to create a smoother user experience.
This demonstrates my ability to tackle projects from the ground up, designing intuitive interfaces for both mobile and web applications.
Before making my big move into the world of tech, I was working as a business analyst and technical writer for various local and international NGOs. I have written and edited hundreds of grant proposals with a 90% success rate in having the proposals approved.
My primary clients were grassroots women-led organizations located in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia, which were focused on addressing various human rights issues. Some of the organizations I wrote proposals to include UN Women, UNDP, UNFPA, Red Umbrella Fund, and Women's Fund Asia (WFA), among others.
During my time working with NGOs, I gained insight into various societal issues that could be mitigated through technological solutions. This motivated me to participate in Hacktoberfest 2022, where I contributed to open-source projects that focused on using technology for social good.
I have documented my open-source development journey by publishing weekly technical blogs on my DEV.to platform.
I was 7 years old when I wrote and illustrated my first book. Although it was a short and simple story about a lost duck in a massive forest, it demonstrated one crucial thing - my love for writing and storytelling.
